Connecting heritage, science and ITC in English
This project has been developed by the students and teachers in the first of Bachillerato course, with students from four subjects all participating; Cultural Heritage, Scientific Culture, Information and Communication Technology and English as a Second Language. All subjects during the project followed the same direction, using a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) approach to explore the cultural heritage of Andalusia.
During the project the students have been able to learn and understand the value which the cultural heritage of Andalusia has and the importance of science and technology in the conservation of these important items so that people can continue to observe and enjoy these artefacts. In addition through using another language in this project the students have been able to see how the can reach a wider audience with more languages. The cultural heritage students have focussed their studies of the project on heritage items here in Andalusia and how to preserve them. The students of Scientific Culture have aided by sharing their knowledge of different techniques used to restore paintings, frescoes, cloth, etc. The role of the students in ICT has been collected all the information and transferring it to be presented in a digital format on a website. The students studying English have contributed by created the accompanying texts which are included on the website in the form of infographics, logos and descriptions. |
